The Archetype of Temple Priestess
The Temple Priestess is an archetype for the healing power of sexuality available within you. We at this site also see our lives’ purpose as a matchmaker to lead you to your true love with Speed-Dating events.
In ancient cultures, priestesses came to the temple as they reached adulthood; they were taught by the elder priestesses about the powerful, sacred nature of female sexuality, as well as how to use sexual energy to heal both physical and emotional imbalances. Sex was seen as an expression of Divine love, of the Male and Female energies coming together to make the Whole: the Creative Source. Spirituality and sexuality were seen as one, with the physical body acknowledged as Divine light put into form. The priestess’ role as healer and spiritual leader in the community was highly complex, addressing healing on physical, mental and emotional levels.
